The A.T.L.A.S. Transition Program Certificate is a non-degree granting program designed to provide students with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and/or Autism with a post-secondary education. The certificate program allows individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and/or Autism access to interdisciplinary enrichment and community engagement to empower students to become self-determined leaders in their lives. To gain admission to this certification program all applicants must have completed two years or earned a certificate from an Inclusive Postsecondary Education (IPSE) or Comprehensive Transition and Postsecondary (CTP) program and submit an application packet to the A.T.L.A.S. Transition Program Admission Committee. Students must meet eligibility criteria (see application for all criteria), provide letters of recommendation, a video or written explanation of why they want to enter the A.T.L.A.S. program, and complete an interview with the program staff. Students that are not currently A-State students must complete an Arkansas State University application and be admitted in addition to providing documentation of previous completion of a program as well as other documents. Students in this certification program will complete a minimum of 24 hours of required non-credit bearing courses. Additional information about the A.T.L.A.S. Transition Program Certification can be obtained from the A.T.L.A.S. Program Handbook, program staff, and from the A.T.L.A.S. website.
