The Certificate in Advanced Materials and Manufacturing will typically be pursued by undergraduates majoring in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology, as well as industry professionals with the appropriate background in these disciplines. The program is intended to provide students and industry professionals with the technical proficiency and professional development necessary to pursue careers in the materials engineering and manufacturing engineering fields.  The 12 credit hour curriculum includes fundamental coursework in materials science and manufacturing technology, as well as additional courses in industrial safety, a materials characterization laboratory, and a professional development seminar on the modern practice of materials engineering and manufacturing engineering.
